Going Green

This planet is our home and we all know we have a role to play in caring for it now to preserve it for the future. BSF Group takes to heart our part in this shared responsibility. Our environmental policy and the way work on a day to day basis reflect how we’re doing our bit.

Our Mission

We have an opportunity to make a positive impact on our environment in how we work. This can be using technically advanced and environmentally friendly products in the projects we work on, how we manufacture products and how we carry out a project. In all situations, our aim is to protect and improve the environment through good management and adopting best practice. We know that how we work to protect the environment is important to our employees, clients and partner contractors and always strive to work in ways that demonstrate our commitment to the environment.

We have several initiatives up and running to tackle issues, from minimising waste, promoting energy efficiency by installing solar panels, energy efficient glass and natural climate control systems on projects. Carbon footprint is an aspect we take direct action on and we monitor ours by recording our vehicle, fuel and energy usage and using local suppliers when possible. We also encourage participation in the 10:10 climate change campaign.

Waste is another area we take positive steps to control. We complete WRAP plans for projects, comparing predicted waste against the actual waste. We then review these results to look for opportunities to manage and reduce waste in the future. When producing waste is unavoidable, we recycle as much as possible, segregating waste into appropriate skips on our premises and when available in contractor sites. Aluminium is one of the most recyclable materials on the planet.

Water efficiency is another important area. We ensure that no leaks on our sites are left unrepaired through our regular maintenance programme. Water saving flush devices are fitted to our toilets and we also collect rain water in butts for wash out. We even avoid washing our paint brushes, wrapping them instead. We know that these are relatively small details, but it all adds up and we’re determined to do everything we can to make our contribute to our children’s world.
